For 10 years I have had the pleasure of facilitating and growing Producers’ Pool. Pre-lockdown we met monthly in London and then throughout covid we held monthly meetings on zoom. The network is for producers and programmers of theatre and all live performing arts. The database is 600 folk from 10+ Countries at the moment. But it is time for a change.
Together with the programming skill of Verndale System, we are launching Producers’ Persona a database of producers for producers. If you fit the description then its time to sign up to a new service – Your Network Just Went Global….https://www.producerspersona.com/join.
This means there’s no need to wait for me to call a Producers’ Pool meeting or get the next trade body networking in your diary – you can search the database and gather your own groupings to tackle connectivity and challenges.
We are adding functionality every two weeks – and producers are invited to join us now. If you are a producer or programmer of other people’s work, a festival or venue manager, freelance or in-house, commercial or not-for-profit, UK or global, come join us and meet the world of creative producers
As the intro says this if for producers and will only be able to be searched by producers. It is not for writers, actors, directors and other creatives. It is not a pitching platform. It will have an array of resource links gathered and growing from contributions via producers. We won’t try and re-invent the wheel but we will aim to show off how to find lots of different wheels that are already out there.
If you are reading this and are part of a network of producers, or you have colleagues who might be interested around the world – please share this blog and the link to Tell Me More/Join We’ve had a great array of Broadway/West End, early career, highly experienced and global producers helping with the beta testing. It is a joyfully diverse grouping which hopefully reflects the industry going forward.
My especial thanks to Mariam, the lead programmer, who has taken the brief created between us all and enriched it every step of the way. It so helps having an actor/screenwriter/theatremaker as your programmer. She gets it.
Now let’s see how many of those 600 folk from Producers’ Pool choose to join up and make connections. It is FREE for a year and then we will look at how small a subscription we can charge to cover the operating costs. For now – let’s see whether my target of 200 producers and programmers on here by Christmas can be shattered.
